Man charged with stealing bleachers from Orr High :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

Man charged with stealing bleachers from Orr High :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Chicago Crime

What an alleged jerk, stealing from kids and taxpayers. I hope someone is paying attention at the new DeKalb High School site to make sure things do not disappear there, too.

DeKalb Park District Board President Arrested

http://www.daily-chronicle.com/articles/2010/03/12/60543341/index.xml

Full disclosure: I am a Wal-mart employee as job #3. There are cameras all over that store. I have no idea what people are thinking when they try to shoplift there.

Plane vs. Bambi

Plane makes emergency landing after hitting deer :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

I hope there are a half-dozen people happy to still be alive. I am guessing poor Bambi did not survive the encounter with the plane.

I do not recall seeing any deer on the grounds of the DeKalb International Airport but I recall seeing many deer along Peace Road just a little to the north and I cannot remember if the high fencing goes all the way around the airport.

Forget "CSI Miami"

Forget "CSI Miami" and the peculiar acting 'skills' of David Caruso, there is more action happening in DeKalb instead of on TV and that is not a good thing.

Bond set at $150,000 for suspect in armed robbery

DeKalb Police respond to attempted armed robbery Thursday night

I cannot imagine being shot at like that. Best wishes to the victim, and huge thanks to all involved in finding and arresting the suspects.

Update: Before these articles went to the "Chronicle's" paid archives, the bond article allowed comments while the initial arrest article did not.

DeKalb's Annual 'Event'

Threatening first responders and other vital employees with layoffs is turning into an annual 'event'. Last year, the layoff threats did not happen until after the April election. Do you believe in coincidences? I do not.

Best wishes to all City of DeKalb employees with what I know is another very stressful time.

The airport never seems to appear first on the budget chopping block. It needs to pay for itself and if it cannot, then invite DeKalb County, which is currently salivating over future landfill tipping fees, to turn it into a county/regional airport.
